Chennai: Protest is getting stronger in Tamil Nadu on the mass killing of sandalwood smugglers by the Andra Pradesh police. The relatives of those deceased blocked the roads placing the dead bodies on the road in Thiruvannamala, demanding that immediate action should be taken against those responsible for the killings. The main allegation is that seven out of the 20 people shot dead were arrested a day earlier and then killed by the police. While, police version is that they killed 20 smugglers in self defense. Relatives claim that the workers possessed only axes to fell the trees and from the bullet marks its evident that they were shot at from close distance.
