Total prohibition was not the objective: Govt tells HC

Indicating changes in the announced liquor policy, the State government informed the High Court that, it is not the policy of the government to impose a complete ban on liquor in the State. The intention of the government is to reduce liquor consumption in a phased manner. Meanwhile, the Court asked the government, whether they conduct any studies before regulating the liquor consumption. But government told a study can be done if the court rules so. Reacting to court's observation, Minister for Excise K. Babu said the government will form the liquor policy for next financial year after getting a direction of the Court. Super Prime Time debates this issue with Joseph Vazhakkan, Raju Abraham, Antony Raju and Adv. Rajesh.
