Kodiyeri Balakrishnan is the new CPM secretary

Alappuzha: New era has dawned upon the state CPM with the State Party Conference has selected Kodiyeri Balakrishnan as the new State Secretary of the Party. Mr Balakrishnan was born in 1953 November 16 to Kunjunni Kurup and Narayaniyamma in Thalasserry. He came to politics through KSF and later went on to become the chairman of the M G College, Mahe. He has become the party’s district secretary in Kannur and then a member of the state committee, the secretariat, and the central committee and finally the Politburo member in 2008. He also became the Home and Tourism Minister in the V S led government and has been a member of the Assembly for 24 years, winning all the election from Thalasserry.
