“External forces setting government agenda”: KPCC president

Thrissur: Referring to the now diluted liquor policy that initially aimed to implement total prohibition in a phased manner, KPCC president accused “external forces” of setting the government agenda. “The biggest flaw in democracy is when ‘external forces’ set the agenda for governance. I am just airing the feelings of the people,” he said. . He also added that the sudden change in the liquor policy disappointed many and it came as a real shock to the party, which was batting for a phased liquor ban in the state. He dismissed Leader of Opposition V S Achuthanandan’s demand for his resignation as president after changes in the state liquor policy and termed him an agent of the liquor lobby.
