Govt somersaults, HC approves bars to continue operation

Kochi: State government on Wednesday informed the High Court that they would conduct an assessment study on the effect of new liquor policy in the society and tourism industry. The advocate general informed the court that Labour and Tourism secretaries of the state have given the responsibility to conduct the study and directed to submit the report within three weeks. Based on this the HC has given the nod to bar to maintain the status quo till January 20.
