Corruption: Case registered against former SP Rahul R Nair

Thiruvananthapuram: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has directed to register a case against former Pathanamthitta SP Rahul R Nair against whom a graft allegation is pending. A group of quarry owners had alleged that Rahul had accepted a bribe of Rs 17 lakh to reopen the quarry that was ordered to close down in April this year. A preliminary investigation by Intelligence ADGP Hemachandran had revealed that the allegations were not baseless. Accordingly, the government handed over the probe to Vigilance Director Winson M Paul. Vigilance received vital evidence of Rahul accepting the bribe. Rahul has also given statements to the investigation team against IPS officers Manoj Abraham and Sreelekha.
