CBSE ignores Nehru; unaware of Children’s Day

Dilli: The CBSE, advised by HRD ministry, had celebrated Sardar Patel’s birthday as National Unity Day, with a pledge, run and competitions. It had exhorted writing on “the life and times of renowned thinker Deendayal Upadhyaya,” as part of the “Expression Series committed to the holistic development of students” who “must be made aware of the selfless and valiant services of the women and men who have worked incessantly towards nation-building.” Maulana Azad and C V Raman too were honoured. Mars orbiter mission was also celebrated. But CBSE website does not have any mention of Jawaharlal Nehru or the Children’s Day. Nor has the board sent any circular to schools to celebrate Children’s Day.
