Adoor for educational profiling of IFFK delegates

T’puram: International Film Festival of Kerala {IFFK} advisory board chairperson Adoor Gopalakrishnan has decreed that a grasp of English is mandatory to view sub-titled films. He derided the ‘illiterate’ crowd, which crams theatres salivating at the prospect of steamy scenes, while the ‘qualified’ are left outside. Earlier a questionnaire which sought details, including educational qualifications, favourite movie and director and list of film festivals attended, had created a ruckus. The contention is that such educational profiling is essential to elevate the status of IFFK to international standards. 7,000 delegates are slated to attend.
