Prime Minister Narendra Modi while visiting the flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday announced a relief package of Rs 745 crore. Of the Centre’s package, Rs 570 crore has been allotted for the reconstruction of houses and Rs 175 crore for restoration of hospitals. Earlier, the PM visited the army men at Siachen and spent the Diwali day with them. Meanwhile, in protest to PM visit to the state the extremists observed hartal in the valley.
