Liquor sale is on rise in the state

Kochi: The closure of 418 bars in the state has in no way affected the liquor sale in the state. The statistics submitted by government to High Court of Kerala states that the sale of liquor in the state has witnessed an increase of Rs 517 crore compared to last year. The opened bars in the state too witnessed an increase in its sale. Sale of beers have also doubled during these periods, stat proves. It is on a petition filed by a bar owner from Thiruvananthapuram that the HC had sought the government to furnish the details of liquor sale of the state.
