CM falters LDF's tax stir plan @ Super Prime Time

The decision by the Cabinet convened on Wednesday to bring down the hiked water tariff has casted a shadow over the hopes of LDF's plan to stir a strike over the raise of taxes in the state recently. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy blamed opposition's stand in the matter as elusive and devious. Heeding to the persistent demand from the people Government has exempted the hiked water tax to those domestic consumers under 15,000 litres water usage per month. Cabinet also has taken decision to hike 5% increase in the tax to cars cost beyond Rs 20 lakhs. The taxes of houses up to 3000 sq ft and flats up to 2000 sq ft will see a rise.
