Neyyar Dam
Situated in the Agasthyamalai hill and Neyyatinkara Taluk of Thiruvananthapuram district, Neyyar is a popular picnic spot with a blue lake at the foot of western ghats.Neyyar Dam is within shouting distance from the capital city of Thirvananthapuram and It was established in 1958. A boat cruise on the lake is charming. Boats can be hired to explore the shores of the sanctuary. Kerala Tourism Development Corporation organizes (KTDC) tours to Neyyar Dam.Neyyar dam is part of Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary which has elephants, wild buffaloes, wild boar, porcupines, tigers and a variety of snakes.
