Parunthupara-ambience sublime



Parunthupara or eagle rock is a very beautiful place, which looks like a vast stretch of rock spotted with lush green grass. The place is called Parunthumpara or eagle rock because we can see a large area around like an eagle. It is also called Grampi. It had a panoramic view of high peaks and there deep trenches surrounding the Parunthumpara.

Down the valley there are deep forests, which have tribal settlements and a dozen of waterfalls. The road to Parunthumpara is flanked by unending stretches of tea, cardamom and coffee plantations. It is also a trekker's paradise.

Location

8km from Peermede, 10 km from Vandiperiyar and 30 km west to Kumily.

How to reach

By road: On Kumily-Peermede route (KK road), you have to deviate 6 km from the main road at Pamabanar.

About 3800 m above sea level

Through out the year, except Jun-July
