760 kg explosives seized in Koyilandy

Koyilandy: Police conducted a raid at a godown where explosives were stored and seized 760 kgs of explosives stored illegally. The special squad and bomb squad held the raid as per the direction of Vadakara special branch DySP at Ayyappa Traders. The seized 760 kg includes 513 kg of potassium nitrate, 15 kg of ammonium nitrate, 87 kg of strontium nitrate and 143 kg charcoal powder. Police said as per license they have the right to store only aluminum powder, aluminum chips, barium nitrate and sulphor powder. Raid was led by N Sunil Kumar, SI , Koyilandy, K Raveendran, SI, VT Babu and Venugopal.
