Thiruvananthapuram: K.Jayakumar, who recently retired as the state chief secretary, was appointed as Sabarimala chief commissioner.
The TDB was reconstituted recently by the Oommen Chandy government and till then K.Jayakumar, who recently retired as the state chief secretary, was its chief commissioner.
After the new board took over, Jayakumar relinquished his post, but the court Tuesday asked him to continue till the present season is over.
There were also allegations that there is no chief commissioner or Devaswom secretary to handle and help TDB when the appam issue occured.
With the 2-member Devaswom governing board taking charge on November 12, there were reports that the chief commissioner's post was unwarranted.
Last year, the Dewaswom secretary was given charge as chief co-ordinator of Sabarimala. And as per the new decision, this year, the chief commissioner will take charge of all activities.
