M M Mani remanded in police custody

Thodupuzha/Nedumkandam: Jailed former CPM Idukki district secretray MM Mani was remanded under police custody till November 30. The court ordered Mani to be kept under police custody for further interrogation.
Mani was arrested in connection with the murder charges of Youth congress leader Anjeri Baby murder case. The special investigation team arrested Mani on November 21 from his residence, 30 years after the incident.
Mani, who reached the Nedunkandam CI office at about 7 on Wednesday morning, was produced at the Nedunkandam Judicial Magistrate court at 9 am. He was remanded under judicial custody till December 4 and was sent to the Perumedu sub jail. Meanwhile, his bail plea was dismissed by the court.
Mani was arrested in a dramatic way under `Operation ringtone'. After Mani expressed his desire not to appear for the polygraph test, the special team led by IG Padmakumar prepared moves for his arrest.
