
Farmer's register :Only registered farmers to get subsidies

Thiruvananthapuram: The farmers registration in the state have completed and as many s 14.32 lakh farmers registered. The state government decision is that allowances being allotted to farmers will be given for the registered farmers only from now on wards. All the subsidies will be provided as money via their bank accounts. The government started farmer's registration to reduce subsidy burden by directly giving subsidy and avoid middlemen. The registration was completed in November 16.
More people were registered in Thrissur and less in Kottayam. The date of registration was extended many times.
Agriculture minister KP Mohanan said that no decisions have been taken whether to extend the date further. If there are complaints, more chances needed to be given. As part of registration, the government collected the details of bank accounts and asset details of farmers.
