Posted on: 24 Nov 2012

New Delhi: Chief minister Oommen Chandy said that the Delhi CM has agreed to approve Kerala's demand of Kochi Metro Rail project and the decision taken in the meet led by urban development minister Kamal Nath has cleared all apprehensions. For the last few years, DMRC is doing Kochi Metro activities and that has not affected the work of DMRC. But CM did not respond clearly when asked whether DMRC will be in charge of Kochi Metro. He said the special committee has decided the condition of responsibility in such a way so as to make it acceptable to all and clear all confusion. Minister Aryadan Muhammad said that DMRC would be the consultant and will also play a part in project implementation. Union minister Kamal Nath said without affecting Delhi Metro, Kochi Metro would be given all assistance. When asked whether DMRC will take over the project, Kamal Nath repeated these words participation, support and cooperation and said he is aware of these English terms only.
