Posted on: 22 Nov 2012

Kottayam: The Kottayam Vigilance court dismissed the plea filed by Jomon Putthanpurayil demanding a vigilance probe against Home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

The plea had alleged that Thiruvanchoor had intervened to delay the CBI probe against T G Nandakumar. The court found no substantive evidence to show that Thiruvanchoor had intruded to delay the probe.

The allegation was that the minister had instructed the officials to delay sending the notification of the state government to the centre seeking a CBI probe . The petitioner claimed that the concerned officials had mentioned this in the file and the court examined the file.

Apart from the home minister, a vigilance probe was also sought against T G Nandakumar, then secretary to the home ministry K Jayakumar, principal secretary Sajan Peter, joint secretary S Sukhi, then under secretary John M John and under secretery M Salim.
