
Co-operative sector need to be strengthened: Antony

Defence Minister A K Antony said that co-operative sector need to be strengthened. He was inaugurating the four-day seventh co-operative congress today in Thrissur. While business units aim for profit, the co-operative units' main focus is on service to customers. Common man will always benefit with the co-operative sector.
'Co-operative movement for new brave world and social goodness', public distribution system under the co-operative movement and the prons and cons of the 97th ammendment to the Constitution would be the subjects discussed.
Over 3000 delegates from different parts of the country would attand the event. Besides Antony, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation K C Venugopal, Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Ramesh Chennithala, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Finance Minister K M Mani participated. PTI
