Body of missing nurse found in UP

New Delhi: The body of a missing Malayalee nurse from Rai Barely, Vijayamma from Puthoor, Kottarakkara, who was head nurse at PH in Dhi Village, was found on Monday. Her body was found floating in Saradah Sahay river near Oonchal village. Gold worth eight sovereigns was missing from her body. Police took one more person under custody in relation to the case.

Police suspect theft behind the incident. She is suspected to be strangled to death. A post-mortem would be held on Tuesday. It was reported that a group came in a car and abducted her from the village where she was staying in Rai Barely. Earlier police took two under custody including the car owner.

Earlier UP Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said the police have intensified probe on the missing Malayalee nurse in Rai Barely. Though her mobile phone was traced, police were not able to get a definite clue. Akhilesh called Union minister of state for Labour Kodikkunil Suresh and said the probe is progressing. A special team led by DYSP has been formed. Union minister AK Antony and Vayalar Ravi intervened recently to strengthen the probe.

Her husband passed away in January 2012 and her son Binu is a CRPF camp Bangalore.
