
Sundaresh Menon takes charge as Singapore SC chief justice

Kochi: Sundaresh Menon from Palakkad has taken charge as chief justice of Supreme Court of Singapore. Menon, who was born and brought up in Singapore, is the first Indian to become CJ there. He is also acting as chairman of Minority Rights Council under the Singapore president.
Menon who is 50 years old enrolled as lawyer in 1987 and gained specialty in commercial law and arbitration. He is a internationally recognized lawyer. He worked as managing partner to noted lawyers organizations Raj and Tan. After gaining law graduation in Singapore national university he gained LLM from Harvard varsity. He also acted as attorney general, judicial commission of SC and appeal judge. KK Menon from Karinkarapilly Palakkad is his father, who also worked in Singapore foreign affairs ministry.
