Siju, Antony Muniyara get Ambedkar media award

Thiruvananthapuram: This year's Dr Ambedkar media award in print section was bagged by Siju MR and Antony Muniyara, both from Mathrubhumi. In electronic media section, Biji Jalal from Indiavision was selected for the award. In print section BV Pavanan from Kerala Kaumudi and in electronics section Anil Karamal from Jeevan TV were given special mention by the jury.
Ambedkar media award is given for best reporting on scheduled castes and tribes and carries a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a plaque. Siju and Antony won the award for the series ` Idamalakkudikku Kalidarunnu' which was published in Mathrubhumi from October 26 to November 1, 2011 and featured the issues faced by tribals in Idamalakkudi. The award would be presented by chief minister on November 12
