Youth Congress activists assault mediapersons

Kannur: Some youth Congress activists assaulted mediapersons who came to report the Youth Congress Kannur Lok sabha constituency meet on Thursday. As many as 12 mediapersons were injured and one sustained serious injuries. They were assaulted when they tried to capture the drunken behaviour of some activists who created commotion during the meet. Cameras were destroyed too. Jaimon, Congress Kottiyoor constituency president, who led the assault was suspended. Later mediapersons boycotted the event and later when K Sudhakaran MP intervened and tendered apology, mediapersons were back to cover the meet.
