
Ignatius Kakkanadan passes away

Kollam: Writer, translator and journalist Ignatius Kakkanadan passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday night. He was 83.
Ignatius is the elder brother of noted Malayalam novelist late Kakkanadan. The funeral rites will be held here on Thursday. He was a cancer patient. Ignatius had acted as editorial board member of Janayugam and worked as assistant editor in Soviet Sameekha in Madras. He is well known for his Malayalam translations of the works of Babsaheb Ambedkar.
His wife is Mariyakutty and chidren Romy, Anitha, Mohan, Ajayan, Dr Savitha. Bijoy, Sanjay, Krishnan and Navan.
