T N Gopakumar gets award

Asianet editor-in-chief T N Gopakumar has been selected for this year's K Vijayaraghavan Memorial Award for his contributions to the journalism field. Mr Gopakumar has been selected for the award instituted to perpetuate the memory of the Former Associate Editor of Kerala Kaumudi, taking into consideration his contributions to journalism over the last four-and-a-half decades. Mr K G Parameswaran Nair, General Secretary of the K Vijayaraghavan Memorial Committee and Panel President N Ramachandran, who is also Kerala Kaumudi Editorial Advisor, said this in a press release here.
The award, consisting of a citation, plaque and a purse of Rs 10,001, will be presented to him by Defence Minister A K Antony at a function here on November 17. The function would be held at the Fourth Estate Hall of Press Club here. UNI
