Mexican journo bags Golden Pen of Freedom Award

Mexican journalist Anabel Hernández was awarded the Golden Pen of Freedom, the annual press freedom prize of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).Hernández was awarded for her investigative reporting on corruption in Mexico. 'Personally, this award is a light that shines on my dark path, a light in the lonely and unequal struggle between a journalist and a whole apparatus of corruption,' said Hernández after receiving the award.
The award is presented to recognise outstanding action, in writing or deed, of an individual, group or institution for the cause of press freedom.
