New Delhi: Challenging the HC order on liquor policy, the state government on Wednesday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court.
The new liquor policy states that licences would be granted to hotels which is 4-star or above. The HC issued the directive pointing out that the tourism sector was hit hard with this. The government petition sought to restore the clauses nullified by the High Court.
The petition stated that the court has no authority to intervene in the policy decisions of the government and the clauses in the liquor policy are made for public interest.
