
Unidientified person kills three passengers in APSRTC bus in Chennai

Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, an unidentified person killed three passengers and injured another when they were travelling in the Chennai-bound APSRTC bus at Tada in Nellore District, early today. Sullurpet Circle Inspector Hanumantha Rao told mediapersons that the unknown person, suspected to be a psycho, throttled the neck of one of the passenger and inflicted knife injuries in the chest of other two passengers when they were asleep.
When the injured person raised an alarm, the unidentified person alighted from the running bus and escaped under a the cover of darkness. Two of the passengers died on the spot while another succumbed while undergoing treatment at Sulurpet Government hospital where the injured person was admitted in a critical condition. The bus was proceeding to Chennai from Bhadrachalam and the incident happened at 0400 hrs.CLUES team and top police officials have reached the spot to ascertain the details. The deceased were identified as Niranjan of Kavali, K Rambabu of Ongole in Prakasam District and Ajay Biswas of Malkangiri in Odisha.
According to the statement of the bus driver Samaiah, about 24 passengers, including the person who killed the passengers, were in the bus at the time of the incident. On hearing the incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has expressed his grief over the deaths and directed Director General of Police (DGP) to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the incident. Mr Reddy also asked Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana to render immediate financial assistance to the kin of the deceased. About 10 special teams from the police department have launched a hunt to nab the psycho, police said.
