23 engg colleges lack quality: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Education minister Abdu Rabb stated in the Assembly on Monday during the Question Hour session that there are 23 sub-standard engineering colleges in the state. These colleges will be given an year's time to improve the facilities and upgrade themselves. After the time limit, if these colleges fail to maintain the standards, then recognition would be cancelled and action taken against them, the minister added.The Education Minister days back had stated the state does not have any sub standard private engineering colleges.
