Kerala to take action on sale of panmasala, gutka

Thiruvananthapuram : Stringent action will be taken against the sale of pan masala and gutka products in Kerala, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said today.


In a statement here, he said it has been decided to seize tobacco products and destroy it as per the direction of the court. It has also been decided to alert the railway authorities and also to ensure their cooperation in this regard.

Strong anti-tobacco awareness would be carried out in educational institutions.

Teachers and student police cadets would be asked to identify the students using such products and their source.

Regular checking would be carried out at all check posts to stop the movement of these products, he added. (UNI)
