Posted on: 04 Jun 2012

Thiruvananthapuram : Asian School of Business (ASB), one of south India's premier B-schools, has lined up a number of scholarships with the aim of attracting the best and the brightest from around the country to its AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme.

The scholarships are granted by the kind courtesy of the George M Thomas Foundation, ASB Director Prof S Rajeev said here today.

Applicants with scores of over 90 percentile in CAT or over 95 percentile in MAT, students with a consistently high academic record, including scores of more than 80 per cent in class 10th and 12th and over 70 per cent at the undergraduate level, will be eligible for the merit-based scholarships and can apply for partial fee waiver for the two-year full-time course which starts in August 2012.

Another major talent pool the institute is looking to tap into is high-performing rural students.

Scholarships are being offered for applicants who have completed their 10th or 12th standard education from schools in rural areas (outside municipal and corporation areas).

ASB has earmarked five scholarships for the 2012-14 academic intake. However, in the event of a large number of applicants with demonstrated academic excellence, the institute will consider awarding scholarships on a case-by-case basis.

'ASB is willing to go the extra mile for students who truly deserve it. We want to attract the brightest students, provide them the most nurturing academic environment and produce the finest managers and management practitioners in business,' he said. (UNI)
