Director, Producer CP Padmakumar passes away

Kochi: Director, producer and art director CP Padmakumar, passed away here on Saturday at a private hospital here. He was 54. He directed films like Aparna and Sammohanam and also produced these movies. He began his film career as art director and later became assistant of G Aravindan. His first film `Aparna was released in 1981. His second film Sammohanam in 1994 gained greater accolades as the film bagged `Best In fest' award in Edinburgh festival in 1995. He worked art director of famous films like Thampu, Vasthuhara, Esthappan, Naseema and Swam. He also acted in some movies including `Patam Onnu Oru Vilapam'.
