
Sakhi TV: A channel for women

Thiruvananthapuram: Sakhi TV, a channel exclusively for women, will be launched in the state in October under Sakhi Television Communication India Ltd. Apart from Malayalam, the channel would broadcast in four other Indian languages too.
Nina Pillai, wife of deceased business tycoon Rajan Pillai, will be the chairperson and filmmaker Rajasenan the CEO of the new channel. Actress Sarada is the chief patron and Ambika the vice-chairperson. Congress leader Simi Rosebell John will also be the vice-chaiperson.
The launching of the website of the channel and logo releasing would be held on 8th February. Official inauguration of Sakhi will be done by scheduled caste tribal Minister PK Jayalakshmi.
