Posted on: 25 May 2011

Thiruvananthapuram: The Lok Ayuktha on Wednesday sent a notice to former chief minister V S Achuthanandan and his son Arun Kumar on Wednesday. The notice was sent based on a complaint by Socialist Youvajanatha state general secretary Salim Madavoor stating that the state exchequer had incurred loss as employees of the transport department were sent for training in IHRD where VS son was employed.

When VS was acting as transport minister, motor vehicles inspectors and AMVs were sent for training at a fee of Rs 2500 per head to the Model Finishing School of IHRD. The complainant pointed out that when training was granted free at the central government institution IMG why did the state send them to IHRD with high fees.

In the sitting of Lok Ayuktha held in Kozhikode, justice Pareedpillai and K K Dinesan sent notice. The case would again be considered on July 27.
