
Noted singer Malaysia Vasudevan passes away

Chennai: Noted South Indian singer Malaysia Vasudevan (66) passed away in Chennai on Sunday. He suffered a heart attack a few days back and was admitted to Surya Hospital in Chennai. The condition of the singer remained critical since then.
Malaysia Vasudevan hails from a family of singers in Malaysia. He has sung close to 8000 songs in Tamil and 4000 in South Indian movies.
Malaysia Vasudevan's daughter Prashanthini is a budding playback singer in Kollywood and son Yugendran Vasudevan is also an actor and music director. His daughter is most famous for her songs 'Mundhinam Parthene' in Varanam Aayiram and 'Ayyayo' in Aadukalam.
He has also acted in a good number of Tamil films. Some of his films include Mudhal Vasantham (with Sathyaraj), Oomai Vizhigal (with Vijayakant), Kathanayagan (with Pandiyarajan) Oru Kaidhiyin Diary (with Kamal Hassan), Jallikattu, Thiruda Thiruda, Amaidhippadai, Povae Unnakaga, Punnagai Desam, Kokki etc.
